Built to support
the work you
already do.
Note
Undertone is a private therapy companion designed to help clients stay connected to what happens in session.
It helps them revisit what was said, notice recurring themes over time, and better understand whether therapy is helping, all in a way that keeps the therapist-client relationship at the center.
We traditionally build clinical tools for therapists, and that continues to shape how we think.
Why it can be valuable for clients
Therapy often produces important insights that can fade quickly after a session. Undertone helps clients hold onto what was discussed, return to key takeaways later, and see the themes that may be repeating over time.
For many clients, that means more continuity between sessions, a clearer sense of momentum, and a better ability to stay engaged in the work they are already doing with you.
Grounded in the session, not in speculation
Undertone is not a diagnostic tool. It is not a substitute for clinical judgment, assessment, or treatment planning.
Its role is intentionally narrower. It reflects back what was actually said in session in a more digestible, organized way — preserving objectivity by grounding outputs in the conversation itself, rather than imposing outside interpretations or trying to act as a clinician.
Designed to complement therapy, not compete with it
We believe therapy works because of the human relationship. Technology should support that relationship, not attempt to replace it.
Undertone is meant to help clients arrive at their next session with more memory, more continuity, and more awareness of the patterns that may be unfolding over time. It exists to deepen engagement with therapy, not to pull clients away from it.
We also believe clients should not have to depend on whether their therapist uses a particular software platform in order to benefit from better reflection tools. Undertone extends that value directly to the client while staying deeply aligned with therapist-led care.

A note from
our team
We came to this work by building for therapists first. That history matters to us. Undertone is not a departure from that commitment. It is an extension of it.
We remain deeply supportive of the therapist community and of the human craft of therapy itself. Our goal is to build tools that respect the profession, protect its core value, and help clients get more out of the therapeutic work they are already doing.
If you still have questions or wish to learn more about our clinical tools, please don't hesitate to contact us.
